Looking Glass FallsWelcome to the land of mountains, waterfalls, and hiking trails, in an area known as the Up Country. Our cabins are located on one of the tallest privately owned peaks in South Carolina nestled within the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Recreation Area. Across the highway from our driveway, you will find the second tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Around us are over 100 miles of hiking trails. These trails accommodate all hikers, regardless of skill level, allowing you to pick what's best for you. In the evening, you can sit on the porch or deck and watch the day end. You could choose to cook out on the nice grill outside each cabin. At night, you can look down our driveway and see towns light up for miles: at almost 3100 feet of elevation, you are looking down on a lot of country. We are the highest elevation lodging in the entire state of South Carolina.

The Caesar's Head State Park borders us on the front. They have miles of hiking trails, a scenic overlook and a great gift shop just a mile from our driveway.

Not far away, in Asheville, North Carolina, you will find the Biltmore Estate. We are lucky to have a number of nice country restaurants within a few miles. Some do wonderful evening meals by reservation on the weekends. Fifteen minutes away is Brevard, North Carolina with lots of antique stores and gift shops. There are 4 nice golf courses nearby.

Another great place is Dupont State Forest with more than 10,000 acres of forest, trails, and waterfalls between Hendersonville and Brevard, North Carolina.

See our Links page for more great State Parks in the surrounding areas and interesting sites close by. You can also take a look at our Activities page for more great things to do in the area.
